A mid-winter blog on this cold day. A glass of wine is always nice on days like this, snuggled up with my best friend Bella. (see photo).
I have some new paintings, which are in the pictures above and below this blog post.
I am always thinking of new ideas and new ways of painting some of my favourite scenes. I have three paintings in the Heritage Gallery and am planning for an exhibition in November on the 18th and 19th.
I have been excited about a new and popular project, centre table mats. These come in round and oval sizes, and each one is an original. Because I Iove doing them, I have put them at a special price, on request. I think that they make a great gift, you can hang them on the wall, lie them flat on the table, or put them on a stand on the table. There is more information on the website.
I have also commissioned new coffee mugs as well, $35 each, with new paintings on them. They are often admired when people are drinking out of them.
What else am I doing? I am involved in the running of the Cambridge U3A. This is a brilliantly successful organisation. Launched with public interest meetings in May 2022 by myself, Lyndall and Carey, it has taken off. The membership is now over 350 people and lectures are held in the Woolshed at Te Awa once a month.
U3A Cambridge has amazing speakers and over 35 special interest groups, plus mini lecture series on speciality subjects. It’s an outstanding group, expertly run by a great committee and Cambridge and Hamilton people love it. Find out more at www.u3acambridge.org.nz.
